An accomplished multi-reed player-flautist, his composing- arranger and leadership skills were discovered and he consequently worked with many of Québec's artists. Luminaries such as: Gino Vanelli, Diane Dufresne, Ranée Lee, Yvon Deschamps, Richard Séguin, Gilles Vignault, Jim Corcoran, called upon him to participate in countless recordings, television programs and live shows, in one or many capacities.

Noteworthy, his membership in the hugely successful group Harmonium.

From 1985 to 1989 he was composer-arranger and musical director of the very popular Samedi de Rire comedy serie on CBC. Since 1990 his compositions are now associated with productions for children with, Le Théâtre de l'oeil; televised, animated series like; The Busy World of Richard Scarry and Les contes du chat perché (Cinar) ; comedy shows such as Yvon Deschamps' "Comment ça 2000?"; Michel Mpambara «Y'a trop de blancs au Québec» winner of a 'Felix' best humour show in 2001 and «Mots de tête », comedy capsules created by Pierre Légaré.

In 1997, he composed the music for the play; Le porteur / The Starkeeper , a Théâtre de l'oeil production. The play won a «Masque » for best theatrical production for young audience in Montreal in 1998, Le porteur / The Starkeeper opened on Broadway the following year at the New Victory Theatre for a sold-out run. Dear Fizzy, a new play that the Théâtre de l'oeil produced with a Subirana score is opened on Broadway in May 2004.

In 2001 he collaborated on a « Musical story » for which he composed the music for the songs and soundscore, Hugo and the Dragon; a cinematographic marriage of the art of film and the art of puppetry combined in a 'musical' . In 2002 the film won a 'Rocky' at the prestigious Banff festival for best French youth production.
